Where can I get refunds for a cancelled event?
If you have tickets to a cancelled event, please return them to the point of purchase.
My seats are odd numbered. Are they together?
Yes they are. Seat numbers are even on the right side, starting with 2 on the inside aisle. Seat numbers are odd on the left side, starting with 1 on the inside aisle. Seat numbers in the center section/s are odd on the left, even on the right. Seat 101 should be the center of the row. Refer to the seating charts for clarification.
When do the doors open for events?
In general, the Opera House lobby doors are open 60 minutes prior to curtain. The doors to the seating areas open 30-60 minutes before curtain for ushers to begin seating patrons.
What is the Opera House's policy on bringing infants and toddlers to performances?
Please use discretion in deciding whether your child is old enough to sit in their own seat without distracting others. Broadway Live performances are not recommended for children under the age of seven years. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
Can I bring my camera into the show?
Cameras, cell phones, and other recording devices are permitted on a show-by-show basis. Check the show's event page for specific information.
Do you sell alcohol and other concessions?
For most shows, yes, we sell soft drinks, bottled water, mixed drinks, beer, wine, and we also offer a variety of snack items. Some promotions, especially those events presented by a school system, request that alcohol NOT be offered in our concessions. In those instances, we restrict alcohol sales in preference of keeping the ‘family’ event atmosphere.
Does the Opera House have a smoking area?
In accordance with Section 14.97 of the Municipal Code of the LFUCG, the Lexington Center Corporation/Opera House is a smoke-free facility. Additionally, LCC prohibits the use of E-cigarettes inside its facilities.
Do you have accessible seating?
Yes, we do have accessible seating on the Orchestra level. We recommend you purchase tickets in advance through our ticket office so we can best accommodate your needs. Visit our Accessibility Page to learn more.
Do you have any accommodations for the hearing impaired?
Yes, we have hearing enhancement devices available for your use. You can ask for one at the coat check, or the House Manager in the lobby.
What is the Opera House's time zone?
Lexington, Kentucky is in the Eastern Time Zone, and it does recognize Daylight Savings Time.
Do you offer gift certificates?
The Opera House does not offer gift certificates. However, you can purchase a Ticketmaster gift card that can be redeemed to purchase tickets for any venue and event of your choosing.
Is there a dress code at the Opera House?
Although there is no official dress code at the Opera House, we encourage patrons to dress appropriately according to the type of performance. Our recommendation is to dress to honor the performance of the artist(s) on stage.
What is a "RUSH" ticket?
Rush tickets are tickets sometimes offered at the Lexington Opera House Box Office immediately prior to showtime at a discounted price. For Broadway Live or Variety Live performances, Rush Tickets are only available to senior citizens and students, if available. Prices and availability for Rush Tickets vary, so we suggest contacting the ticket office the day before the performance for details.
What happens if I'm late for a performance?
According to artist contractual agreements, patrons who arrive late will be seated at the first appropriate opportunity. The Opera House makes every attempt to begin each performance on time. Please, check your ticket to confirm the starting time of a performance!
Why is a show I have heard about not yet on your schedule?
We do not post shows on our schedule until they are contracted and have an on-sale date.
Who do I contact if I am interested in planning an event at the Opera House?
Start by emailing our General Manager, Brian Sipe. Be sure to include your name and company contact information. Details about your proposed event (including the nature of your event and expected attendance, and date requests) are helpful.
How do I contact the Lost and Found department?
For lost and found items, please contact our Operations Manager as soon as an item is discovered lost. Please include complete information: your seating location, performance with date and time attended, and any specifics about your lost item.
Can I become an usher at the Opera House?
We’d love to have you on board! Email the Operations Manager if you’re interested in ushering our events. There will be a training session sometime over the summer to help you get acquainted with our venue, and orient you on house policies and procedures.

What is the bag policy at the Opera House?
Oversized bags, luggage, and backpacks may not be permitted inside the venue. Bags must not exceed the dimensions of 12 inches (length) x 12 inches (width) x 6 inches (depth). This size limitation applies to all bags, with exceptions pertaining to medical necessity or diaper bags. All bags and persons are subject to inspection before entering the theatre.
