Downtown Traffic Near Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena to be Impacted by Road Paving and Lane Closures
Starting this week, residents and visitors driving in and around downtown Lexington are advised to plan ahead and allow for additional travel time as road paving and lane closures will occur on Main Street and Vine Street near Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena. Roadwork began on Tuesday, September 7th and will continue over the next two weeks.
Two major events are taking place at Central Bank Center over the next two weekends and traffic may be impacted.
10,000 - 12,000 comic enthusiasts are expected to attend The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention beginning Thursday, September 9 and continuing through Sunday, September 12 with the highest attendance numbers expected on Saturday and Sunday.
More than 15,000 country fans are expected to attend the Eric Church Gather Again Tour, opening at Rupp Arena on Friday, September 17th at 8:00pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Patrons attending these events should strive to avoid Main Street and W. Vine Street and park in the High Street Parking lots. Prevailing parking rates will apply.
The main entrance for Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena is located at 425 W. High Street.
