Professional Bull Riders’ Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Bucks Back to Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, March 7-8, 2025
LEXINGTON, KY. (November 4, 2024) – For the eighth time in as many years, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Lexington, Kentucky, returning to the iconic Rupp Arena on March 7-8, 2025, with PBR Lexington.
For two nights only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting and unpredictable live sporting events to witness.
PBR’s return to Lexington comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2024 as the Velocity Tour held 30 regular-season events across four months, including 12 weekends with two events held simultaneously. Welcoming more than 356,000 fans throughout the season, the
Velocity Tour hosted 20 sold out event days, marking its most successful season in attendance since its inception in 2015.
The upcoming PBR Lexington will be the 20th event of the new individual season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch on as riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.
When PBR’s Velocity Tour last traveled to Rupp Arena in January 2024, teenage sensation Clay Guiton (Cherryville, North Carolina) went a perfect 3-for-3, winning PBR Lexington, his career-first Velocity Tour event victory.
Guiton jumped to an early event lead when he won Round 1 courtesy of an 86-point ride atop Cotton Mouth (LH Cattle Co./2T Cattle Co.). He then remained perfect in the Bluegrass State in the second round when he conquered Major Nelson (Hurst Pro Rodeo) for 85 points.
In the championship round, Guiton then took on Repo (Cash Money Bucking Bulls). In what proved to be a perfect pairing, the young North Carolinian matched the powerful bovine athlete jump-for-jump en route to the requisite 8, marking 86 points to cement his first event win.
Compliments of the golden finish, Guiton garnered an early 140.5 Velocity Global points.
The bull riding action for PBR Lexington begins with Round 1 at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, March 7, followed by Round 2 and the championship round at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 8. All 40 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1 on March 7, with the Top 36 advancing to Round 2 on March 8. The riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled with the Top 12 advancing to the championship round Saturday evening for one more out and a chance at the event title.
