LEXINGTON, KY. (March 24, 2025) – Newton’s Attic Engineering Education presents the top 8 high school teams competing in the Robot Gladiator League State Championship at Central Bank Center in Lexington, KY, on Thursday, April 17, 2025. RGL is a combat robotics sports league designed to inspire and educate the next generation of STEM leaders. Throughout Season II, 16 teams from 13 Kentucky counties have demonstrated their expertise in design, engineering, and fabrication, aligning their projects with the latest science and engineering standards.

 

The State Championship will feature the top 8 teams who have advanced through intense competition. These teams will engage in a high-stakes, single-elimination tournament that promises exciting battles, featuring All-Star matches and a climactic Battle Royale. Central Bank Center is excited to host this event, supporting unique STEM programs that empower students throughout Kentucky to develop critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

 

Event Schedule:

  • 10:00 AM: Nelson Up Center vs. Grant CTC
  • 10:45 AM: Russell County vs. West Carter
  • 11:30 AM: Craft Academy vs. Eminence Independent
  • 12:15 PM: Jackson City School vs. PL Dunbar
  • 1:00 PM: Semi-Final (Winners from the 10:00 AM & 10:45 AM matches)
  • 1:45 PM: All-Star Match 1
  • 2:15 PM: Semi-Final (Winners from the 11:30 AM & 12:15 PM matches)
  • 3:00 PM: All-Star Match 2
  • 3:30 PM: Battle Royale
  • 4:30 PM: Championship Battle
